Cloud Stop Motion (CSM) allows administrators to create multiple simple username/password accounts using the CSV upload feature. These accounts are ideal for users who cannot use SSO and will log in through a custom login page unique to your organization. This guide explains the steps to create these accounts and details about the custom login page.

Step 1: Access the Add/Import Users Dialog

  1. Log in to your CSM admin account.
  2. Navigate to the All Users section in the left-hand menu, or select the specific group you want to add users to.
  3. Click + Add/Import users at the bottom of the user list.

Step 2: Choose the Sign-In Method

  1. In the "Choose Sign-In Method" dialog, select With a username and password.
    • This option is for users who will not use SSO and require simple accounts with usernames and passwords.
  2. Click Continue to proceed.

Step 3: Select the CSV Upload Option

  1. In the "Select Source of User Information" dialog, select CSV or Excel File.
  2. Click Upload CSV Fileto upload a properly formatted file.
    • Your file should include:
      • Display Name: The user’s full name.
      • Username: The desired username for the account.
      • Password: A password for the user.
      • Groups: Any groups the user should belong to (e.g., “Class 1, Red group”).
  3. If needed, download the sample CSV file provided in the dialog for reference.

Step 4: Review and Configure Details

  1. After uploading the file, review the list of users in the "Bulk Create Logins" dialog.
  2. Configure the following:
    • Permission Level: Set to Students (or another role as needed).
    • Assign Groups: Assign users to existing groups or create new groups for organization.
  3. Click Import Users to create the accounts.

Step 5: Notify Users

  1. Once the users are successfully created, a confirmation screen will display their login details.
  2. Download the list of users in PDF or CSV format for your reference.
  3. Share the login details manually with each user. Include:
    • Their username and password.
    • The custom login page link for your organization (see below).

Step 6: Use the Custom Login Page

  • Users with simple username/password accounts must log in through the custom login page, which is different from the standard SSO login page.

  • This unique URL is specific to your organization and can be found in the Settings page under "Basic/Student Login URL."

    Example:
    https://app.cloudstopmotion.com/student-login/759868d1-73b3-4e51-8bd2-2525298b18ef

Share this link with users during onboarding.

Step 7: Users Join Your Organization

  1. When users log in via the custom login page, they will be prompted to join your organization.
  2. Once they accept, they will:
    • Appear in the organization console for management.
    • Share the organization's storage.
    • Gain access to premium features (if the organization has a paid account).

Best Practices

  • Use clear and simple passwords suitable for your audience (e.g., young children).
  • Inform users to bookmark the custom login page for easy access.
