Cloud Stop Motion works on the basis that anything you create is saved on the go to the cloud (hence the name).

You can store unlimited frames in Cloud Stop Motion, but for additional storage needs beyond your first 500MB, you may wish to subscribe to one of our storage plans. Your first 500MB of storage is absolutely free.

Of course, beyond pricing you may be wondering how much storage you will need. This article aims to provide a guide to you so that you can decide which plan would be best for you. The exact amount of storage your animations will take up will depend upon things such as the resolution of your images, any audio in your project and the overall total number of frames. Using a higher frame rate will require you to have more frames in order to produce an animation of a certain length (although the animation will look smoother), whereas lowering the framerate will have the opposite effect.

Storage info:

  • At 1280x720 resolution (HD) you can store roughly 650 frames per GB.
  • At 640x360 resolution (SD) you can store roughly 2000 frames per GB.

A short animation might be around 200 frames, which would be 300MB (0.3GB) at 1280x720, or about 100MB (0.01GB) at 640x360.

Only one instance of each frame is stored, so if you copy and paste lots of frames it doesn’t increase the storage usage.  'Sounds' use a very small about of storage, around 1-3mb per sound.  'Titles' use 1-2mb or less depending on background image.
